• Restoration and Rejuvenation Walk

  Walk with us and learn the amazing history of the heritage site known as the former Guelph Correctional Centre.

• Celebrating International Bird Day
  Sat May 14, 9 am & 1 pm
  Join us for a morning or afternoon stroll along the river, listening and watching to identify the common birds and to learn about them in their habitat.

• Garlic Mustard Pull & DIY Pesto Making
  Thurs May 19, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
  Garlic mustard is an invasive herb. Join us for a garlic mustard pull followed by hands-on workshop on how to turn it into delicious pesto. Learn about invasive species along the Speed and Eramosa, contribute to the health of the river bank, and leave with your very own tasty pesto!
  

• Full Moon River Walk
  Sat May 21, 7 pm - 9 pm
  By the light of the moon, come hike up-river, across the Victoria Road bridge, and back on the other side.
  

• Beginner Paddling Techniques
  Thurs May 26, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
  New paddlers will be shown beginner paddling techniques and will be able to practise them.
  

• The River of Time Heritage Walk
  Sat May 28, 1 pm - 3 pm
  Walk from the Native Gathering Place at the confluence of the Speed, past the shaping limestone walls, over the rare stone bridge, to the quarry lands.  Hear stories and learn more about the river that runs through the heart of our city.

• Guelph Dance Festival 'In the Park'
  Fri June 3, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
  ‘In the Park’ is Guelph Dance’s wildly-popular, pay-what-you-can dance event. This year, we’re expanding to include Hanlon Creek Park. Choreographers from across Canada will ignite your imagination as they put dance amongst the trees and fields!
  

• 2Rivers Cleanup
  Sat June 4, 9 am - 12 pm
  Join OPIRG Guelph and Wellington Water Watchers for our 37th annual 2Rivers Cleanup
  This year, alongside our traditional garbage pickup, the event will feature three other amazing river-loving activities!

• Cycling Tour of Riverside Gardens... and a Pint
  Sun June 5, 2 pm - 4 pm
  Come out for a relaxing slow ride to explore some exceptional gardens along the River Trails.  We’ll begin at the covered wooden bridge, and proceed on various trails to locate beautiful home gardens, veggie gardens, pollinator gardens and more.  We’ll finish off at the Wooly to toast our favourite garden along the way.
  

• Paddle on the Eramosa River
  Tues June 7, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
  Enjoy a leisurely paddle on the Eramosa River.
  

• Life Under the Water - Crayfish Catching in the Speed
  Sat June 11, 1 pm - 3 pm
  We will explore the interconnected lives below the water on the Speed River. Although not required - if you wear strap on sandals or rubber boots it will allow you to join us in the river and catch some critters.

• Who's that Singing Under the Bridge?
  Sun June 12, 2 pm - 3 pm
  Guelph’s own Ondine Chorus will sing a magical serenade to the Eramosa River under the Victoria Street Bridge. Walk, Bike or Canoe to join us!
  

• University of Guelph Arboretum Bioblitz
  Sat June 18, 10 am - 4 pm
  The Arboretum, University of Guelph, is an incredibly biodiverse site which attracts huge numbers of wildlife. We need your help to count them!  Come out with biologists as we search The Arboretum including a wildlife corridor to the river.
  

• Father's Day Photo Scavenger Hunt
  Sun June 19, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
  Come join the Focus on Nature photography team as we search for The Wild, The Beautiful and The Unusual along the Speed and Eramosa Rivers with our cameras.
  

• The Confluence - Elora and Fergus Nature & Heritage Festival
  Sat June 25, 9am - 9pm
  The Confluence Festival is a celebration of the natural & cultural heritage of the Elora & Fergus area. Nature activities include guided walks and workshops on birds, insects, fish, amphibians, mammals and plants; some cultural activities are Indigenous Peoples studies, area history and architecture.
